HOW TO USE THIS SITE

The fact is, we are in the middle of social transition for which there are no guidelines. Colette Dowling / Red Hot Mamas

Relationship Print E-mail

We all know that the quality of our relationships has a huge effect on our happiness and feeling of security in the world. Some of us have the gift of being able to connect easily and naturally with others in any situation, and for others it is more difficult. Some of us have strong family relationships, and some don't. Many who divorce lose the close connections with the family and friends they made with their former husband, or move to a new city, a new job, and have to begin again the process of forming connections that matter to us. Some of us have good friends, but struggle to find the time in conflicting schedules to catch up with them and enjoy their company. Some of us have parents who are now depending on us for major emotional and/or practical support.

These are not on the face of it difficulties that can be solved by reading. However, since the real solutions begin inside of us, with our understanding of how our same old habits and attitudes can create the same old situations, being exposed to the ideas and experience of others and learning how they manage their relationships can be extraordinarily useful. Once the mind is open, you can act effectively.
