This book was recommended highly to me by a number of women who referred to it as their "bible" when they were recovering from difficult divorces. The authors, who conducted divorce process seminars for 25 years, are even-handed in their discussion of the situation of "dumper" and "dumpee," as they unsentimentally refer to the two parties.

They explore the progression of feelings stimulated by the breakup of a relationship, and just knowing the signposts on this well-traveled road may be a big help as you make your own journey. Reading this book can help you understand why you're feeling the way you're feeling and give you options for how to handle different situations you will confront.

There isn't any real substitute, however, and I'm sure the authors would agree, for being able to talk through your feelings and decisions with a close but objective friend, a therapist, or a divorce support group. (Link for locating groups is included for your information, but this is not a specific recommendation for the groups because I don't have specific feedback about them.) But learning an energy psychology therapy can speed up this process, make it much less painful, and give you a way to handle your emotions on your own.
