Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh has written a large number books on mindfulness, meditation and love. All are both beautiful and practical: completely lucid with the simplicity of deep understanding, like crystal water running over pebbles in a stream. He is addressing the same ideas again and again with different approaches and stories. A Zen master, he is of course coming from the perspective of Buddhism. However, what he says about the applications of mindfulness is universally applicable.
